Maria Gillen grew up in Mayfield, Cork City. She spent many happy childhood hours in Ennismore - a beautiful landmark and farm run by the Dominican order. The brothers moved out and Ennismore shut its doors in 2023. The end of an era and a huge loss to the locals of Mayfield - but the stories live on! Maria tells the stories of the trees of Ennismore - the baby Redwood, still only 100 years old!, the Ginko tree, a present from Japan with its ability to survive the atomic bomb, the magical secret garden with its magnificent Story Tree.
