Who I am
Story From Seeds is run by Maria Gillen (“I”, “me”, “my”), based in Ireland. I am the data controller responsible for your personal information. You can reach me at hello@storyfromseeds.com.
What information I collect
When you take a quiz, join the Chlann Scéalta, or download a free workbook, I may collect:
– Your first name and last name
– Your email address
– Your answers to a quiz or reflection, where relevant
I only ever collect what you choose to give me, and I do not collect sensitive personal data.
Why I collect it, and my lawful basis
I collect this information with your consent, which you give when you tick the box and submit a form. I use it to:
– Send you the free workbook or resource you asked for
– Welcome you to the Chlann Scéalta and send you occasional seasonal stories, reflections, and gentle invitations
– Understand what resonates, so I can share what is most helpful
I will never sell your information, and I will never share it for anyone else’s marketing.
The tools I use (my data processors)
To run my small business, I use trusted third-party services that process data on my behalf:
– Tally (tally.so) to create and host my forms and quizzes
– Systeme.io (systeme.io) to hold my mailing list and send my emails
These providers act only on my instructions and keep their own privacy safeguards. Some may store data outside the EU under appropriate legal protections.
How long I keep your information
I keep your details for as long as you are part of the Chlann Scéalta. If you unsubscribe, or ask me to remove you, I will delete your information promptly.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to:
– Access the personal data I hold about you
– Correct anything that is inaccurate
– Ask me to delete your data (the “right to be forgotten”)
– Withdraw your consent at any time
– Object to, or restrict, how I use your data
– Ask for a copy of your data to take elsewhere

Unsubscribing
Every email I send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click and you are out, no hard feelings, and I will remove your details.

Making a complaint
If you are ever unhappy with how I have handled your data, I would love the chance to put it right, please email me first. You also have the right to complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
